Visibility

A client report needs to answer three questions: what changed, what should the client do next, and where can they find the latest version? Ask your AI assistant to export those answers as one self-contained HTML file with the styles, chart data, and images embedded. A client can then read the report on a phone and open the supporting figures without downloading an attachment.

Use a separate report for each client. Include the reporting period and revision date in the report itself so the reader can tell which numbers they are looking at when they reopen the link.

How to send an HTML report as a link

  1. 1.

Try the sample above and open Preview sample report. Expand Show metric details to see the same interaction your client will get. Select Use my own HTML when you are ready to replace the sample.

  2. 2.

Sign in before publishing a report you expect to revise. Choose your visibility settings and publish. For confidential figures, use password protection, a paid feature, and send the password separately.

  3. 3.

Open the published URL in a private browser window to check what the recipient sees. Send the report link with the reporting period and the decision or feedback you need.

A real example

An agency sends a monthly campaign report to a client who needs to approve next month’s budget. The sample above shows a short decision summary, three headline metrics, and expandable source figures. The agency sends the URL with a one-line request to approve the paid-search test. After correcting an attribution note, the author edits the published page in the dashboard and updates the revision date. The client reopens the same link and sees the correction.

Questions about share an HTML report with a client

Does my client need a DocHost account to read the report?

No. They open the report in a browser. If you add password protection, they enter the page password without creating an account.

How do I keep a client report private?

Use a password on a paid plan and test the link while signed out. Keeping a page out of Explore or search does not restrict access for someone who has the URL. Share the password separately from the link.

Can I correct a report after I have sent it?

Yes. Sign in before publishing, then edit the same page from your dashboard. The report keeps its URL. Update the revision date inside the report so the client can tell they are looking at the current version.

How long will the client’s link work?

Free links last seven days, or three days when published as private. Paid plans support permanent links. Check the expiration date before sending a report the client needs for their records.

Will charts and tables work in the shared report?

Tables and interactive HTML can render in the browser. Export one self-contained HTML file and embed any chart data it needs. Preview the report first, especially if the original used local files or relative asset paths.

Keep your links forever

Free public pages initially last 7 days; private pages last 3 days. Paid plans support permanent links; trial expiry rules differ.
