How to Share the HTML ChatGPT Writes (Without Saving a File)

ChatGPT writes you a full HTML page, but it's stuck in the chat as code. Here's how to turn it into a link your team or client can open.

ChatGPT is great at writing a full HTML page — a landing section, a pricing table, an email template. The problem comes after: the output lands inside the chat window as raw code, and the person you want to show it to needs to see the result, not the markup. Here's how to share ChatGPT's HTML as a real page.

Why forwarding the code doesn't work

If you copy ChatGPT's HTML and paste it to a coworker, you've handed them homework. They'd have to save a .html file, open it locally, and hope the styling holds. Most people won't. A screenshot loses the interactivity and looks bad on a phone. Sharing the whole chat overshares — it exposes every earlier prompt and dead end.

The clean way: paste the HTML, send a link

  1. Grab the whole document. In ChatGPT, click the copy icon on the code block so you get everything, including the opening <!doctype html> tag.
  2. Paste it into the share ChatGPT HTML tool. The preview renders the page — columns, button colors, the typography the model chose — because the inline CSS travels with the markup.
  3. Create the link and send it. You get a read-only URL like dochost.co/d/a1b2c3 that opens the page exactly as ChatGPT built it.

A real example

You asked ChatGPT to build a pricing page for a side project. It returns ~150 lines of HTML with inline <style> — three tiers, a feature list, a CTA button. You paste it, the three columns and button colors render in the preview, and you drop the link into Slack: "First pass at the pricing page — does tier 2 read right?" Your coworker opens it on their phone during standup and replies in the thread. Nobody cloned a repo or ran a dev server.

Things worth knowing

  • Inline styles and <style> blocks survive because they ship inside the HTML you paste. CSS that lives in a separate external file ChatGPT referenced but didn't include won't be present — ask it to inline the CSS for a pixel-faithful page.
  • The link is read-only. Recipients can open, scroll, and screenshot it, but not edit it. Want a new version after feedback? Regenerate in ChatGPT and paste again for a fresh link.
  • Treat scripts like any AI code. For a typical no-script pricing page or email mockup there's nothing to execute; if the output includes JavaScript, read it before sending to a client.

Beyond ChatGPT

The same flow works for any assistant. If you're sharing output from several tools, see turn any AI output into a link. If you just have a raw .html file, HTML to URL is the more general version of this.

Make it permanent

Free links last 7 days, with or without an account. To keep a page online for good — say, a portfolio piece a client keeps referencing — see pricing.

Bottom line: don't make people save a file. Paste the markup and share ChatGPT's HTML as a link they can open anywhere.
