An HTML link generator — the “html to link” tool people look for — takes raw HTML markup you already have and produces a URL that anyone can open in a browser to see the rendered page. That is different from building an <a> anchor tag — this tool turns HTML into a link by hosting the content itself and handing you a URL to it.

Paste your HTML into the editor, click Publish, and dochost stores the markup and returns a unique URL within a few seconds. The link stays live for seven days on the free tier, or permanently on a paid plan. No account is needed to publish; anyone who has the link can view the rendered page without logging in.

How it works

  1. 1.

Paste your HTML into the editor on this page.

  2. 2.

Click Publish — no account needed for a free 7-day link.

  3. 3.

Copy the URL dochost returns and share it; recipients see the fully rendered page, and paid plans add permanent links and custom slugs.

実際の例

Maya is a QA engineer on a front-end team. She notices that a three-column card grid collapses incorrectly when the viewport is between 768 px and 820 px wide — the middle column drops below the other two instead of staying in line. The bug is fully reproducible with about 90 lines of self-contained HTML and inline CSS: no external dependencies, no JavaScript, just markup and a <style> block.

Her options are to paste those 90 lines directly into the Jira ticket description (which Jira renders as plain text and other engineers have to mentally parse), attach a screenshot that loses the interactive context, or spin up a CodePen — which requires an account and a context switch.

Instead, Maya opens dochost, pastes the snippet, and hits Publish. Ten seconds later she has a URL like dochost.co/d/xk9q2. She drops that link into the Jira ticket under Steps to Reproduce. The developer assigned to the ticket clicks it, sees the exact broken layout at the exact viewport width Maya described, and can inspect the computed styles in their own DevTools without any copy-paste work. The bug is confirmed and fixed in the same sprint, and the link stays in the ticket as a record of what the original repro looked like.

Two different tools answer to “html to link”

Search that phrase and the first page is split down the middle. Half the results write an anchor tag for a URL you already have. The other half take HTML you already have and give you a URL. Those are opposite jobs, and landing on the wrong one wastes a few minutes before you work out why nothing fits. This page is the second kind — here is how to tell which one you came for.

You have markup — from an AI chat, an export, or your own editor — and nowhere to put it.

This is the page. Paste it into the editor above and publish; you get a URL that renders the markup the way a browser would, with inline styles and style blocks intact. Nothing is installed and no account is needed for a seven-day link.

HTML link generatorについてのよくある質問

Does this build an anchor tag, or generate a link to a hosted page?

It generates a link to a hosted page, not an anchor tag. If you searched for something like build a hyperlink in HTML, you want a reference on writing <a href="...">text</a> markup — that is a different task. This tool takes HTML you already have, stores the rendered output, and returns a URL that any browser can open. You are not writing a link inside a document; you are getting a link to the document itself.

How is the URL formed, and can I choose my own slug?

By default dochost generates a short random slug — something like dochost.co/d/xk9q2 — so you get a link immediately without picking a name. On a paid plan you can replace that random slug with a custom one, for example dochost.co/d/card-grid-bug. Free-tier links use the auto-generated slug only. Either way the slug is the only thing that identifies the page; keep the URL private if the content is sensitive.

Will the rendered page look the same for every person who opens the link?

Yes, with one practical caveat. dochost stores and serves the exact HTML you pasted, so inline styles and <style> blocks render identically for every visitor. If your snippet references external resources — a CDN stylesheet, a web font, an image URL — those load from their original servers when the visitor opens the link. If an external resource goes offline or changes, that part of the page will look different. Self-contained HTML with no external dependencies is the most reliable choice.

Can I delete the link or update the content after publishing?

Both, and the update happens at the same URL. Publishing anonymously hands back an edit link alongside the public one — open it, change the HTML, and everyone who already has the public URL sees the new version, so a typo does not cost you the link you have already pasted into Slack. Signed-in pages are editable from the dashboard, which is also where you delete one; deleting stops serving the page immediately. Free links still expire after seven days (3 days if published as private) on their own.

Is the link generator free, and what does the free version hold back?

Generating the link is free — no account, no card, no trial countdown on the tool itself. What the free tier limits is time, not the page: a free link stays live for 7 days (3 days if published as private) and you can extend it before it expires, also free. Nothing is stripped out of your page in the meantime. Your markup is served as written, no ad banner is injected, and the link works for as many people as open it. Paying buys permanence and control — the URL stops expiring, and you can choose your own slug, put a password on the page, or remove the dochost footer link. For anything with a natural shelf life — a demo, a review, a mockup — the free version is the whole product.
